Janine de Mey, Manager of the Year
Janine de Mey started working at Amsterdam Manor Hotel as an Assistant Operation Manager about 2 years ago. Since then, Janine has been promoted to Operation Manager where she oversees the
different departments of Amsterdam Manor Hotel and MVC to make sure both properties are well maintained. Before joining the Amsterdam Manor family, Janine worked at the Marriott Hotel as
an assistant for the Director of Engineering where she spent 12 years. Wanting to try something new, Janine moved over to Amsterdam Manor Hotel where she started working as an Assistant
to the Operation Manager position. After 2 months of working as an assistant, she was promoted to the manager position. When asked what her favorite part of the job was, Janine responded
by saying that every day is different and brings a new challenge. This shows her motivation and determination to tackle each obstacle head on earning her the Manager of the Year award.
Michelle, Supervisor of the Year
Michelle Antoinne is the perfect example of a devoted employee. She has been with Amsterdam Manor’s housekeeping department since July 14th of 1997. Through those 19 years, she has
worked herself up to the Housekeeping Supervisor position. Michelle has a wide array of responsibilities stretching from supervising room cleanings to maintaining the property as
clean as possible. In addition, she is in charge of preparing next day’s work for the housekeeping department. Her favorite duties include managing inventory every month and
inspecting the guests’ rooms to assure their cleanliness. Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is extremely lucky to have a hard-working person such as Michelle Antoinne by their side.

Tirzlyn Kolfin, Employee of the Year
Tirzlyn Kolfin is the Front Office Supervisor at Amsterdam Manor Hotel. Her responsibilities consist of overseeing the front desk. Tirzlyn started working at Amsterdam Manor Hotel as a
part-time employee while studying for her B.A. degree at the University of Aruba. Meeting new people and interacting with guests are some of Tirzlyn’s favorite aspects of working
at the hotel which she has now been doing for 2 years. Not only does she fulfill her position’s responsibilities, but Tirzlyn goes above and beyond by assisting the Reservations
department, the Sales and Marketing team and the Wedding Coordinator whenever needed. This dedication has earned her the Employee of the year award for 2015.

For July, Joel Catibog was selected to be the Employee of the Month. Joel has been with us for 2 years and 9 months. He is in charge of manning the omelet station at Mangos along with preparing the buffet for our guests. His responsibilities do not end there however, Joel does not only take care of our guests, but also his own co-workers. Preparing the staff meal and feeding his fellow team members is among those responsibilities. When asked what his favorite part of his job was, he answered by specifying that he had no favorite part. He enjoys every aspect of his work, but that if he had to choose, it would be meeting people and making new friends from all over the globe. We are lucky to have him on our team! Thank you for your terrific work!
Juan Vasquez Pinales

Juan Vasquez started working at Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort roughly 8 years ago. He started working as a storeroom attendant where he was in charge of storing the hotel’s items in an orderly and accessible manner. Today, Juan works at Mangos and Tulip, splitting his time between both restaurants. When Juan was asked what he did specifically at both locations, he answered with the biggest smile; “I make people happy”!. This hard working individual makes it his personal mission to make every guest’s experience, the best possible experience they could ever have on our happy island. This is why, in June, Juan was awarded the Employee of the Month. His work ethics and dedication to the hotel should not and will not go unnoticed. We are extremely lucky to have employees such as Juan working for us. The hotel would like to thank you for your hard work and for making Aruba “Juan Happy Island”!

For February, Jennifer Brooks earned herself the employee of the month. Her hard work and previous experience in the tourism industry make her a great choice for this month’s notable employee. Her favorite part of working for the hotel is helping guests resolve issues, and by working at the front desk and reservations office, she can do just that. Congratulations Jennifer and thank you for your hard work!

Huge congratulations to Amsterdam Manor’s Alyson Boston for receiving January employee of the month! Alyson started working for Amsterdam Manor Hotel 2 years ago. She is one of the reservations agent for the hotel.
Her responsibilities include reserving rooms for guests and making sure their reservations are up-to-date. Before coming to Amsterdam Manor Hotel, Alyson worked the Queen Beatrix International Airport in Aruba
where she gained a lot of experience in customer service. When asked what her favorite part of working for the hotel was, she answered: “making guests happy”.
This answer shows us why she deserves January employee of the month!
