We arrived a day later than we were scheduled because of a problem with US Airways. I was tired and in a poor mood when we arrived. Everything, including my mood, improved upon arriving at our room. We had a beautiful view and the room was great. We were treated like we were family.
I am gluten intolerant and can not eat anything that contains wheat, rye, oats, or barley in any form. My wife and I spoke with the food and beverage service manager and were assured that we would be taken care of. Because of their ability to make a wide selection of excellent meals that met my dietary needs, all our meals were eaten at Margo’s restaurant. The food and service were wonderful and sauces were made to accommodate my requirements. All the wait staff were wonderful.
You can be sure that on our next trip to Aruba, we will stay at Amsterdam Manor. Their service and hospitality was wonderful. We would definitely recommend Amsterdam Manor to anyone planning a trip to Aruba.
We've just returned home back to Texas after our 2nd wonderful stay at the AMBR. We visited Aruba and the AMBR for the first time in 2005 and loved the island so much and The Amsterdam Manor that we immediately booked reservations for the same time a year in advance for this June 2006. Sadly our eight days in paradise is done now, but we are going back again next year and would never consider staying anywhere else in Aruba but at the Amsterdam Monor. The hotel is clean, the staff are wonderful and friendly, they feel like family who cares about you. We've stayed in both the two bedroom suite and the one bedroom suite and both times have had a fantastic view of the Caribbean. The AMBR has all the amenities and more that any large high rise has, but without the crowds and time spent waiting on elevators, or long distances walking to the beach. The beach was just a 60 second walk from our room each time we stayed, and Eagle Beach where the AMBR is located is just beautiful! White powder sand, clean, plenty of chairs, lounges, shade when needed and no big crowds and not commercialized like 'Palm Beach which has more rentals on their beach than actual tourist space on the beach.' The Mango Passions Beach Bar is staffed with friendly people, who during the day will walk the beach area in front of AMBR to offer ice cold towels, fruit kabobs, or take the lunch order for their guests. Six days a week at days end they set up a gorgeous restaurant on the beach called Passions. Very elegant dining right on the beach which opens at sunset, where you eat at tables by the light of a tiki torch which reflects beautifully on the Caribbean. The menu is fantastic, definately an experience you will not find elsewhere. The hotel rooms we've stayed in have been very spacious like having your own apartment with a front and back door and a great patio. The kitchens are fully stocked with silverware, dishes, pots and pans, glasses for any type of drink you desire. Refrigerator, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee pot. The only thing I would add to this kitchen is a teflon coated skillet for easier clean up. The staff is very attentive, and what impressed us so much is that the staff not only speaks the native language, but is also very capable of talking to their guests in Dutch or English too. I almost hate to go on about how wonderful the Amsterdam Manor is, because then everyone will find out and maybe next time their will not be room for us! Let me say also that there is no need to stay at a big high rise to have access to water sports. The AMBR has an activities desk, and almost anything that one would like to do while in Aruba, they arrange it for you with just a phone call and its done. Sasha at the front desk is just the sweetest girl on earth and she'll make sure that she answers any of your questions with a smile! The location is great because you head one way and you are downtown in 5 minutes, head the other way and in 5 minutes you are in the high rise area. There is shopping and restaurants in both directions and every where in between. We can't wait to go back, only 11 more months to wait!
The Amsterdam Manor is a small but very relaxed resort, people are friendly and very helpfull.
every time we go there it feels like we are comming home.
the staff gives you such a warm feeling of welcome, that if you have stayed there once, you never want to go somewere else on the island again.
the whole resort the beach and the rooms are very clean.
for us the Amsterdam Manor deserves a 10+
we hope they will stay like this for the next years, so we can come home for many years to come.
lots of love to everybody from the Manor from Els Druiven and Sandra Vos.
We were at Amsterdam Manor for 10 days and we LOVED every minute of it!! George is the best!! He made us feel right at home. He showed us a great time from the minute we checked in! We miss Aruba and Amsterdam Manor so much! We will totally be back, hopefully this September. It was the best vacation we have ever taken!!!! Aruba is the BEST!!

Wij hebben een leuke tijd gehad in het Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort. Alles netjes en schoon
Dit Resort is zeker een aanrader aan iedereen
We've been to many places in the Caribbean, but this was the first time to Aruba. And are we pleased with ourselves that we chose the Amsterdam Manor....
Every member of staff - be they receptionists, cleaners, waiters/waitresses, bartenders, maintenance men or management were incredibly friendly, courteous and professional. It was a real joy to stay and a wrench to leave. We cannot wait to return. It was a true five-star holiday. We could go on and on and on...but we think you get the idea that we had a memorable holiday.

After spending a great week on a Carribean cruise that ended in Aruba, spending a week at the Amsterdam Manor was the "icing on the cake". We truly enjoyed the room, the hospitality, the service, the food, the Mardi Gras entertainment during dinner, happy hour at the bar and, of course, Eagle Beach. We hope to come back soon. The manor makes for a great romantic getaway but we'll bring our kids next time. I know they'll enjoy Amsterdam Manor as much as we did!
I just wanted to write you a quick note and tell you that my family and I had another wonderful visit at your hotel. My utmost thanks is extended to Janine who really went out of her way to accomodate all of my requests. Seeing Marc, Satcha, Illis, and Christy again was wonderful. Jorge was a true professional every day we saw him and we all feel like we have known him our whole lives. Filo who ? :) Since my parents have timeshare at the Divi down the street I can honestly say that they were so impressed by your entire staff and their ability to make you feel like a person and not just a guest. I could go on and on, but my girlfriend and I enjoyed another fantastic week and we can't wait to get back next year. It was a pleasure to meet you at the cocktail party, and I wish you great success with the upcoming renovations during the summer. Thank you for making our week so special.

Just wanted to drop a note to let you know that my husband and I had the best vacation of our life at the Amsterdam Manor April 2nd to 9th, 2006. Everyone at the Manor was so kind and helpful, we will never be able to thank you enough. The barbeque on Tuesday night was awesome - I've never seen so much food and the dancers were great. I also enjoyed Happy Hour the night the managers were there and got Art up to dance (he never dances).
Ellis on the front desk was especially wonderful to us. I feel like I have know him all my life. Our luggage was lost for the first day and a half, but just joking with him about it made it bearable. He has such a wonderful personality, you are very lucky to have him.
The employees of the Manor were all wonderful to us, the food was awesome, Happy Hours were great, our room was always clean and cool, the beach was beautiful and we never had a problem getting a beach chair or hut - what more could a person ask for. We hope to come back again next year, and this time hopefully we can book a suite. Ellis showed us through one, and they are just what we would like to have the next time.
Once again, thanks for everything, hope to see you next year, if not, the year after for sure.
It was largely on the basis of these testimonials that we chose Amsterdam Manor, after we decided to go to Aruba. It was our first trip to Aruba and we were very pleased and impressed overall. We wanted to add our comments to concur with most of the others.
The location was perfect for us. We were happy to have some distance between us and the high rise area. If you want a high rise, they are very nice, but too touristy and congested for us.
The staff was as pleasant and helpful as others have stated. The rooms were wonderful in both their simplicity and amenities, including kitchenette, microwave, fridge. The cost compared with other places was an exceptional value.
In fact, even with all the positive feedback here, we were still pleasantly surprised with our stay here.
We didn't appreciate that the Manor Complex was as beautiful or inclusive of amenities as it was until we saw it for ourselves. The food at the restaurant was excellent, though I was hoping for more exotic fruit. That and the toaster that didn't pop up were about my only negatives. And I only mention those so you don't get the idea I'm just gushing here.
Oh, and you MUST go to Madam Jennette's for dinner. It's only a 5 minute ride from AM.
Finally, a shout out to Jorje the bartender.
We loved Aruba. We'll be back, and we'll be delighted to stay at the AM again when we do.
