The environmental practices of Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort have been recognized by EarthCheck; the world's leading sustainable travel and tourism certification organization.
EarthCheck is widely regarded as the world's most scientifically rigorous environmental management Program, designed specifically for the travel and tourism industry. It looks at key environmental indicators such as energy and water consumption, total waste production, and community commitment to determine an operator's standard of performance.
In June of 2010, Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort became the first property in Aruba to receive the much-coveted EarthCheck Platinum level of certification.
Prior to this, we successfully benchmarked and certified our operations annually for 10 years; submitting a year's worth of operational data to EarthCheck for scrutiny. This provided us with independent confirmation that we were operating according to the highest of international standards and has helped ensure our systems and the technologies we use are in keeping with the latest advances in climate change science and measurement greenhouse gas emissions.
Our most recent EarthCheck Benchmark report states that Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort, In addition to having a Sustainability Policy in place, ten of the assessed EarthCheck indicators are at or above the Baseline level. From the benchmarking data provided, five indicators, Energy Consumption, Potable Water Consumption, Water Savings, Waste Sent to Landfill and Cleaning Products, are at or above the Best Practice level, which is an achievement to be very highly commended.
Triple bottom line measurement of our performance and a willingness to submit data for independent auditing provides our guests with the certainty that our environmental credentials go well beyond mere tick box action. By doing business with our company you are helping care for the planet and can trust that we are doing everything possible to minimise the environmental footprint resulting from your travels.
