Learn What Makes Amsterdam Manor Special
Amsterdam Manor prides itself on its commitment to the local community, the environment, and sustainable tourism, and we are honored to have gotten press and awards for our mission to help make the world a better place. Learn more about the efforts Amsterdam Manor is making below.
Earth Check is widely regarded as the world's most rigorous environmental management program, designed specifically for the travel and tourism industry. It looks at key environmental indicators such as energy and water consumption, total waste production, and community commitment to determine an operator's standard of performance.
Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort received its first EarthCheck certification in 2000 and is proud to be the first hotel in Aruba and second in the Caribbean to obtain the Master Achievement Award.
Travelife is an international sustainability certification scheme where tour operators and accommodation providers work in partnership to protect the environment and the well-being of people—including their staff, customers and suppliers.
The Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort holds a Travelife Gold award, which reflects our desires to be sustainable leaders and pave the way for other hotels to join the same effort. As an award-winning eco-friendly beach resort, we are constantly looking for new opportunities for improvement.
Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is a TAG-Approved Resort due to our commitment to be proudly LGBT friendly as members of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association and Gay European Tourism Association. Everybody is welcome to celebrate any special occasion at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort.
Significant achievements were made in the community by donating to programs such as:
- Princes Laurentien’s Kids Council (UNICEF)
- Orphanage “ImeldaHof” paying singing lessons
- Kiwanis Club of Aruba
- Quota Club of Aruba
- Christmas dinner “Cas Sjabururi” for the Handicapped elderly
