General Manager
Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort, a unique family-owned Dutch Colonial-style boutique resort in Aruba, has been welcoming guests since 1989. With 72 suites, two restaurants, and a dedicated team of 160 employees, the resort is renowned for its warm hospitality and loyal returning guests, who are considered part of the Amsterdam Manor family. The resort also includes its sister property, MVC Eagle Beach.
On behalf of Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort and MVC Eagle Beach, Deloitte Dutch Caribbean is seeking candidates for the position of: General Manager
As General Manager, you will oversee the seamless day-to-day operations of the hotel, with a strong focus on food and beverage as a cornerstone of the guest experience. You will provide strategic direction and leadership, working closely with department heads across all functional areas to achieve business objectives, deliver exceptional guest satisfaction, and optimize operational performance in both accommodations and dining services.
You will drive operational excellence, foster innovation, and champion sustainability within a dynamic, multicultural environment—always aligning activities with the company’s vision and goals. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and ensuring compliance with policies, budgets, and standards.
- Preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports.
- Enhancing the resort’s distinctive positioning by identifying competitive advantages and leveraging unique selling points.
- Advising the Managing Director and shareholders on organizational strategy.
- Initiating and implementing organizational innovations.
- Reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least 7 years of experience in tourism and hospitality, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within food & beverage management.
- Proven leadership, management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain a strong professional network.
- Hands-on, dynamic, analytical, innovative, and results-driven.
- Strong team player with a talent for engaging and motivating employees.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); proficiency in Dutch, Papiamento, and Spanish is an advantage.
- Affinity with Aruba and the Caribbean region is highly desirable.
