About the Role:
Join Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort as a Houseman, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining our property’s pristine condition and ensuring guest satisfaction. This dynamic position combines maintenance support with housekeeping excellence, requiring adaptability to handle diverse tasks across public areas and guest-facing spaces. Your efforts will directly contribute to creating a welcoming environment that reflects our commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain public areas including lobbies, porches, and outdoor spaces
- Perform basic repairs and furniture maintenance throughout the property
- Respond promptly to guest requests for assistance or maintenance needs
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment and power tools safely
- Clean windows, floors, and high-touch surfaces to hotel standards
- Assist housekeeping team with heavy lifting and special projects
- Monitor and restock public area supplies
- Report maintenance issues and safety concerns to supervisors
- Collaborate with multiple departments to resolve guest concerns
Requirements:
- No formal education required – skills-based position
- Handyman skills (basic carpentry, painting, repairs) strongly preferred
- Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and chemical products
- Ability to safely operate power tools and maintenance equipment
- Physical stamina for prolonged standing, lifting (up to 25kg), and bending
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to take initiative
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and equipment handling
- Positive attitude when interacting with guests and colleagues
