Steward
About the Role:
As a Steward at Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort, you’ll be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Your tasks include setting up dish stations, operating dishwashing machines, and manually washing kitchen utensils and cookware. You will play a vital role in ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently by keeping all equipment and dishes in top condition for use by the culinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate dishwashing stations and machines.
- Load and unload dishes, pans, and utensils from dishwashing machines.
- Manually wash any kitchen items that cannot go into dishwashers, ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen, ensuring safety and hygiene standards are met.
- Scrape and clean food scraps off dishes and utensils before washing.
- Assist in maintaining proper storage and handling of clean dishes and kitchen equipment.
- Help manage waste disposal and recycling in the kitchen.
Requirements:
- Preferable EPB Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must understand English, Spanish, and Papiamento.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and temperature control.
- Ability to maintain composure and a friendly attitude under pressure.
- Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends.
- Professional and polite demeanor at all times.
